This development also enhances ADNOC's production capacity, which could positively impact the global energy supply and the United Arab Emirates' position in the energy market.
ADNOC Drilling successfully delivered the AD-300, its first AI-enabled, fully automated walking island rig, nearly three months ahead of schedule. This rig is the first of six next-generation island rigs under a US$1.54 billion contract awarded by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company — ADNOC Offshore. The AD-300, standing 50 meters tall and weighing 2,000 tonnes, features advanced automation, digital systems, and hybrid power capabilities, allowing it to move between well locations without dismantling. This early delivery is expected to accelerate revenue generation for ADNOC Drilling and support ADNOC's production capacity expansion, reinforcing the United Arab Emirates' leadership in advanced energy solutions. The remaining rigs are scheduled for delivery through 2027.
