Stripe — Paystack, a Nigerian financial technology company and subsidiary of Stripe, has launched Stripe — Paystack Index, an experimental product developed with product support from TSG Labs, the venture studio of The Stack Group. This new service allows users in Nigeria to complete everyday transactions, such as buying airtime, mobile data, funding wallets, sending money, and paying for food through Chowdeck, using AI agents like Claude, ChatGPT, and OpenClaw. Stripe — Paystack Index builds on existing Stripe — Paystack products like Stripe — Paystack Checkout and Zap, ensuring secure transactions within the AI experience while keeping users in control of authorizations. CEO Shola Akinlade stated that the initiative aims to evolve checkout experiences as AI agents become more common for search, decision-making, and action. The product is in early access, with plans for gradual expansion to more features, merchants, and African markets as Stripe — Paystack gathers insights into user behavior.
