Vishay Intertechnology has launched the VOLA617A, a new Automotive Grade phototransistor optocoupler. This device offers high galvanic isolation, making it suitable for electric vehicles, particularly those with emerging 800 V battery architectures, and industrial automation systems. The VOLA617A can isolate DC voltages up to 1000 V, surpassing the capabilities of most automotive optocouplers limited to 500 V. It features a 5000 VRMS isolation voltage, 1414 Vpeak VIORM, and 8000 Vpeak VIOTM in a 4-pin LSOP low profile package. The product is AEC-Q102 qualified, RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green, operating from -40 °C to +125 °C.
