The initiative, which stands for Government of India — Odisha Eastern Investment Accelerator and Special Task Force, includes forming a high-level Special Task Force, a dedicated 'Go East Cell' within India — Puducherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation (IPICOL), and a 'Go Swift' module for real-time monitoring. Additionally, Mohan Charan Majhi announced key amendments to the Industrial Policy Resolution 2022 (IPR-2022), granting 'Thrust Sector' status to 15 economically backward districts to promote non-mineral-based industries and balanced regional development. Since June 2024, India — Odisha has approved 477 projects worth approximately Rs 9.5 lakh crore, with 12 projects worth over Rs 3.11 lakh crore already nearing inauguration. The state aims to align its 'Samruddha India — Odisha 2036' vision with 'Viksit Bharat 2047' and become a leading investor-friendly destination in eastern India, diversifying its economy beyond minerals into sectors like steel, aluminium, chemicals, petrochemicals, semiconductors, and electronics.
