The acquisition by Skyborn Renewables of the Nordergr de offshore wind farm is expected to positively impact the renewable energy sector by demonstrating continued investment and consolidation in offshore wind assets. This move by Skyborn Renewables, a portfolio company of Antin Infrastructure Partners (part of BlackRock), signals a strategic focus on integrated ownership and operation, which could lead to increased efficiency and long-term value creation in the German offshore wind market.
Skyborn Renewables has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares in the Nordergr de offshore wind farm in Germany, becoming its sole owner. Previously, Skyborn Renewables held a 30% stake, with other investors owning the remaining 70%. The Nordergr de offshore wind farm, commissioned in 2017 and located in the German North Sea, has a total installed capacity of 111 MW. This acquisition strengthens Skyborn Renewables' position as a fully integrated offshore wind infrastructure platform, covering the entire value chain from development to long-term ownership and operation. The company aims to gain full control over optimization and long-term management, enabling streamlined decision-making and targeted investments to maximize performance. This move follows Skyborn Renewables' successful turnarounds of Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan and progress with the Gennaker Offshore Wind Project in Germany. Skyborn Renewables also recently signed a long-term integrated service contract with Wind Multiplikator for the Nordergr de offshore wind farm's operation and maintenance.
