Ogun State Denies Prostration Claims

The Nigeria — Ogun State government has vehemently denied a viral report by the online blog Naijamixed, which claimed that members of the State Executive Council are forced to prostrate before Governor Dapo Abiodun when he is displeased. The government, through its Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, labeled the report as malicious propaganda and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. It clarified that an earlier incident involving local government chairmen prostrating before Governor Dapo Abiodun was a voluntary cultural gesture in line with Yoruba tradition, made while appealing on behalf of their colleague, Wale Adedayo, who had made allegations against the Nigeria — Ogun State government. The Nigeria — Lagos State House of Assembly and the Nigeria — Federation Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) had previously investigated and cleared the Nigeria — Ogun State government of any fund diversion. The government urged the public to disregard the false publication and called for security agencies to investigate the blog for disseminating inflammatory information.
