Semiconductor, a global industry association, released its 2Q26 300mm Fab Outlook report, forecasting that worldwide 300mm fab equipment investment in the memory sector will exceed $50 billion in 2026, reaching $52 billion, and further increase to $57 billion in 2027. This growth is primarily attributed to the escalating Artificial intelligence-driven demand for advanced memory technologies like HBM and DDR5, as well as increased investment in Artificial intelligence infrastructure and Data center. Ajit Manocha, Semiconductor President and CEO, highlighted that this strong demand is reshaping investment priorities across the semiconductor supply chain, with memory manufacturers accelerating investments in capacity and technology migration. The report also projects a 19% CAGR for global 300mm fab equipment spending in the memory sector from 2024 to 2029, with memory capacity expected to reach 4.1 million wafers per month in 2026 and 4.2 million in 2027.
