India's Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, announced that free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations with Israel and the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) bloc are temporarily stalled due to the ongoing West Asia crisis. This announcement was made during the India-Greece Business Forum in Athens. Despite these pauses, India is actively negotiating trade pacts with Chile, Mexico, the Southern African Customs Union (SACU), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and Mercosur, with talks with Canada being at a very advanced stage. India and the Maldives also commenced FTA negotiations. Goyal also highlighted India's goal to increase its overall exports to $2 trillion in the next five years and to double bilateral trade with Greece to $2.6 billion by 2030, focusing on collaboration in shipping, clean energy, technology, and processed food.
