Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defense industry cooperation on June 30. The agreement, signed by Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Vietnam, and Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Defence, aims to strengthen bilateral ties in defense. The MoU covers areas such as delegation exchanges, establishment of dialogue mechanisms, defense industry collaboration, UN peacekeeping operations, military medicine, logistics, non-traditional security, and high-quality personnel training. Vietnam also invited leaders from the United Arab Emirates' defense industry to the third Vietnam International Defence Expo in December 2026. This partnership builds on the existing Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Partnership and is expected to contribute to regional and global peace and stability.
