The launch of access to Korean equities through Nextrade by IO Interactive is expected to increase liquidity and trading opportunities in the South Korean market. This expansion benefits global investors by providing extended trading hours and competitive fees, potentially boosting the visibility and investment in companies like Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Hyundai Motor Company.
IO Interactive, a global automated broker, announced the launch of access to select Korean equities through Nextrade, South Korea's first Alternative Trading System (ATS). This initiative builds on IO Interactive' previous launch of the Korea Exchange (KRX), making it the first major US-based broker to offer direct access to Korean equities to global investors. Clients trading on Nextrade will benefit from significantly extended trading hours (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM KST) and increased liquidity. IO Interactive has also implemented its IB SmartRouting℠ technology across both the Korea Exchange and Nextrade to ensure best execution by routing orders to the venue with the best price. This expansion aims to provide greater flexibility and more opportunities for investors to participate in South Korea's dynamic equity market, which is home to innovative companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Hyundai Motor Company.
