Basecamp Research has integrated its EDEN antibiotic design and vaccine target prediction models into Anthropic's Claude Science, an AI workbench for life sciences research. This collaboration allows researchers to rapidly generate and prioritize therapeutic candidates through a conversational interface. The EDEN models, trained on BaseData (the world's largest biological dataset), have shown high efficacy, with 97% of designed antibiotic peptides active against World Health Organization priority pathogens. One candidate, EDEN-7, demonstrated efficacy comparable to last-line antibiotics in mice. This partnership aims to combat drug-resistant infections and accelerate vaccine development, with Basecamp Research also planning to scale BaseData through the Trillion Gene Atlas initiative with partners like Nvidia, PacBio, and Ultima Genomics.
