Kenya's Kenya — Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development launched the KSh1.081 trillion National Agri-food Systems Investment Plan (NASIP) 2026-2030 during the Financing Agri-Food Systems Sustainably (FINAS) Summit in Nairobi. The plan, presided over by Jonathan Cran, aims to transform Kenya's agricultural sector, build resilient food systems, modernize value chains, expand irrigation, strengthen food security, and create over 2 million jobs. It seeks to mobilize 35% of funding from the Government of Kenya and County Governments, 45% from the private sector, and 20% from development and bilateral partners. The initiative aligns with the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) Kampala Declaration and has garnered support from international partners like Germany, which announced additional funding. The plan also includes increasing the capitalisation of the Kenya — Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) to KSh10 billion to improve farmers' access to credit.
