Utz Recalls Zapp's, Dirty Chips

Utz Brands, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, has issued a voluntary recall of hundreds of thousands of bags of its Zapp s and Dirty brand potato chips. The United States — Food and Drug Administration has classified this as a Class I recall, its highest risk category, due to the potential presence of salmonella in a dry milk powder seasoning supplied by United States — California. Although initial tests on the seasoning batches were negative, Utz Brands proceeded with the recall out of caution. No illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers are advised to discard affected products, and retailers have been instructed to remove them from shelves. The recall affects various flavors and sizes of Zapp s and Dirty brand chips sold nationwide.
