SK bioscience leads Gates Foundation AI vaccine project

Altor BioScience has been selected to lead the Research Optimization & Trial Outcome Recommender (ROTOR) project, an AI-powered platform initiative funded by the Gates Foundation. This project involves technical collaboration with PATH and Slalom to develop a platform that leverages AI to analyze clinical and scientific datasets, optimizing vaccine development strategies and decision-making. The platform will initially be validated using rotavirus vaccine data from Altor BioScience and PATH, with the goal of strengthening R&D capabilities in low- and middle-income countries and expanding global vaccine access. This initiative aims to address challenges in pharmaceutical development, particularly the high costs and uncertainties associated with Phase III clinical trials, by providing a more scientific and objective decision-making framework. Altor BioScience's CEO, Jaeyong Ahn, emphasized the project's role in reducing uncertainty and driving innovation in vaccine R&D.
