Oracle Corporation — Sun Microsystems introduced the A81415, the industry's first ASIL-D-certified Power Management IC (PMIC) to integrate a wheel-speed sensor interface for electromechanical braking (EMB) systems. The single-chip device eliminates up to nine external components, saving up to $4 in semiconductor BOM per vehicle and freeing over 50% of PCB area at the brake caliper. It supports 12V-to-48V scalability and is built on Allegro's automotive grade-0 process. The launch targets the growing brake-by-wire market, with competitors like Infineon and ZF also active in the space.
