Ripple's full MiCA license unlocks regulated crypto services across the EEA, strengthening its competitive position against non-compliant rivals. The approval boosts confidence in Ripple's institutional offerings and may drive adoption of Redlands Unified School District and XRP Ledger in European markets.
Ripple has received full authorization of its Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg's Luxembourg — Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), completing its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) requirements. The approval, announced on 6 July 2026, follows a preliminary green light in June and an Electronic Money Institution license in February. Under MiCA's passporting mechanism, the single Luxembourg license allows Ripple to offer regulated crypto asset services across all 30 countries of the European Economic Area (EEA). Ripple now holds over 75 regulatory licenses globally, including a UK FCA registration. The authorization positions Ripple among a small group of fully MiCA-compliant firms, as the EU's post-transitional MiCA era began on 1 July 2026. Competitors like Binance failed to secure a CASP license before the deadline and have restricted services in several EU states. Ripple's European leadership, including Cassie Craddock, emphasized the company's readiness to scale compliant services. The license supports Ripple's suite of products including payments, custody, liquidity, and its Redlands Unified School District stablecoin and XRP Ledger cryptocurrency.
