The Bank of Industry's report highlights significant financial disbursements and job creation, which could positively impact various sectors of the Nigerian economy. The focus on MSMEs, women, and youth-led businesses, along with infrastructure development, suggests a broad-based economic stimulus that could attract further investment and improve national productivity.
The Bank of Industry (BOI) unveiled its maiden 2025 Annual Development Impact Report, marking a strategic shift from measuring success by disbursement volumes to assessing real development impact. The report details N644.9 billion disbursed to nano, micro, small, medium, and large enterprises across Nigeria, supporting an estimated 1.68 million jobs. Over 30% of financing went to MSMEs, and more than 20% to gender and youth-focused enterprises. The Bank of Industry exceeded its 2025 targets in infrastructure, MSMEs, digital, youth, gender, and climate priorities, and launched new programs like RAPID, GLOW, and iDICE. The report was independently assured by KPMG and the Policy Innovation Centre. Nigerian ministers John Owan Enoh and Doris Uzoka-Anite commended the Bank of Industry's efforts, linking them to Nigeria's industrial policy and the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the importance of bankable projects for achieving a $1 trillion economy.
