The Nigeria — Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigeria — Jigawa State Government, the Nigerian Commodity Exchange (NCX), and Mainland Power Limited to deliver 7MW of power. This agreement, signed at the Jigawa Investment Summit (J-Invest 2026), will support a multi-state public-private partnership for seven Agro-Industrial Clusters across Jigawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Kebbi, Ekiti, Osun, and Ebonyi states. Under the MoU, the Nigeria — Rural Electrification Agency will deploy energy infrastructure for irrigation and processing facilities, while the Nigerian Commodity Exchange will issue NCX-backed warehouse receipts for export. Dr. Abba Aliyu, MD of the Nigeria — Rural Electrification Agency, highlighted the importance of reliable electricity for investment, industrialization, and job creation in Nigeria. The summit, opened by Vice President Kashim Shettima, focused on unlocking sustainable economic growth in Nigeria — Jigawa State.
