The commissioning of this large-scale solar project by TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Private Limited for Samsung Electronics in Vietnam is positive for the renewable energy sector, demonstrating the viability of onsite solutions for industrial decarbonization. It enhances the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) profiles of both TotalEnergies and ENEOS Holdings, and improves the operational efficiency and sustainability of Samsung Electronics' manufacturing site.
TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Private Limited successfully commissioned a nearly 28 MWp rooftop solar photovoltaic system at the Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on July 3, 2026. This project is the first and largest rooftop solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under Vietnam's Decree 57 Direct Power Purchase Agreement framework. Under a 20-year PPA, TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Private Limited financed, installed, and will operate and maintain the system for Samsung Electronics. The system, comprising close to 45,000 solar PV modules, will generate over 40,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, covering approximately 26% of the site's electricity consumption and avoiding more than 500,000 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions over the contract period. This initiative supports Samsung Electronics' RE100 commitments and contributes to industrial decarbonization in Vietnam.
