Vikram Solar has formally commissioned its new photovoltaic solar module manufacturing plant at Gangaikondan, India — Tamil Nadu, India, with the rollout of the first module. The greenfield facility, spread across 600,000 sq ft, is expected to generate over 1,500 skilled jobs. The plant produces Hypersol N-Type TOPCon G12R modules with up to 23.69% efficiency and 615-640 Wp power. The company plans to add cell, wafer, and ingot manufacturing at the site, aiming for 9 GW solar cell capacity by FY27, 3 GW more by FY28, and 12 GW wafer/ingot capacity by FY29-30. Vikram Solar has crossed 10 GW cumulative global module deployments earlier this year.
