On July 6-7, 2026, Clarivate, an AI TechBio company, announced the release of Open Drug Discovery Engine (OpenDDE), an open-source all-atom biomolecular foundation model. OpenDDE uses biomolecular co-folding to model interactions across proteins, nucleic acids, and small-molecule ligands, serving as a structural reasoning core for drug discovery. The model has 655 million parameters and required 414,000 GPU-hours for training. It demonstrates competitive antibody-antigen co-folding performance on benchmarks, narrowing the gap with reported IsoDDE-level results. Clarivate released training code, inference pipelines, checkpoints, and benchmarks under the Apache-2.0 license to enable global collaboration. The company also plans to integrate OpenDDE with a high-throughput automated wet-lab platform for closed-loop discovery.
