NCAOOSCE clarifies 2026 budget projects

The Nigeria — National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education (NCAOOSCE) clarified that projects in its 2026 budget appearing outside its statutory mandate are National Assembly constituency projects assigned for implementation. The commission stated that these projects were incorporated into the Appropriation Act in line with long-standing federal budget practice and will be executed in compliance with laws and regulations. NCAOOSCE reaffirmed its core mandate to reform the Almajiri education system and address out-of-school children, highlighting achievements such as profiling over 700,000 out-of-school children and establishing 119 learning centres. The clarification follows public scrutiny and a Daily Trust report on the inclusion of non-education projects.
