The India — Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) facilitated the commercial export of two metric tonnes of Amrapali mangoes from India — Jharkhand to United Arab Emirates — Dubai. The mangoes were sourced from three women-led Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) in Gumla and Deoghar districts, promoted by Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS). The consignment was exported by Fair Exports (India) Private Limited for retail distribution across LuLu Group Internationals in United Arab Emirates — Dubai. The initiative delivered 180% higher returns to the women farmers compared to local market prices. Union Minister Piyush Goyal lauded the export on social media. The orchards were developed under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, implemented in convergence with MGNREGA and supported by the India — Government of Jharkhand. APEDA also organized capacity-building programs for the FPCs.
