This deployment strengthens SoftAtHome's position in the broadband software market and validates prpl as a scalable open platform. Orange gains a competitive edge with advanced Wi-Fi 7 capabilities across its European footprint, potentially boosting subscriber satisfaction and reducing churn.
SoftAtHome announced the world's first commercial deployment of a Wi-Fi 7 repeater built on the full prpl open-source software stack, now live at Orange in Poland and France, with at least three more European markets to follow. The prpl framework provides a hardware-independent base for broadband devices, enabling operators to run the same software across different chipset generations. Orange Poland launched the Smartbox Wi-Fi 7 in March 2026, and Orange S.A. — Orange Group's repeater is now active. The deployment builds on earlier prpl work with Orange S.A. — Orange Jordan. SoftAtHome's Wifi'ON and Eyes'ON software manage mesh topology and analytics. The repeaters support Wi-Fi 7 features like lower latency and Multi-Link Operation, and are designed with sustainability in mind.
