Utah revokes Provo Canyon School license

The United States — Utah Department of Health and Human Services revoked the license of Provo Canyon School, a boarding school where Paris Hilton alleged she was abused as a teenager. The revocation, effective July 6, 2026, cited multiple noncompliance issues dating back to 2025, including failure to maintain staff-to-client ratios, unnecessary restraints, aggressive physical contact, neglect of care, and incomplete background checks. The school must cease operations by August 6, 2026, and cannot reapply for a license for five years. Paris Hilton, who spent nearly a year at the school in the late 1990s, praised the state's action. The school has 15 days to request a hearing and stated it disagrees with the decision and is evaluating legal options.
