APC governors endorse Tinubu for 2027

Fifteen first-term governors of Nigeria's ruling Nigeria — All Progressives Congress (APC) met in Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria — Kebbi State, and unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general election. The governors, including Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, and others from Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara, Ondo, Taraba, Delta, Ekiti, Kogi, Benue, Ebonyi, Edo, and Plateau states, issued a communiqué declaring their total support for the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda. They acknowledged the economic hardship from ongoing reforms but urged patience, arguing that policy continuity is essential for long-term recovery. The governors also condemned insecurity in Nigeria and xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa.
