On July 8, 2026, the Bangladesh — Technical and Madrasah Education Division (TMED) of Bangladesh's Ministry of Education and Germany — Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, on behalf of the Germany — German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), signed an Implementation Agreement in Dhaka to launch the Vocational Training in the Field of Renewable Energy (TVET4RE) project. The project aims to equip Bangladesh's workforce with green skills for the renewable energy sector, aligning with the Bangladesh TVET Implementation Plan 2025-2030. This follows Germany's commitment of €21.77 million in January 2026 for sustainable development projects in Bangladesh and a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Bangladesh — Economic Relations Division (Bangladesh) on June 11, 2026. The signing ceremony was attended by high-level officials including Md Daud Miah, Abul Khayer Md Akkas Ali, Shamshur Rahman Khan, Ruhul Amin, Jannis Hussain, and Martina Burkard.
