Anthropic announced the expansion of its AI agent platform Claude (AI) to web and mobile interfaces, rolling out as a beta for Max subscribers starting July 7, 2026, with broader plan access expected in the coming weeks. Previously available only on desktop, Cowork now allows users to start tasks on one device, monitor progress from another, and review completed work later, with tasks continuing to run in the background even when the device is offline. Anthropic also published usage data from 1.2 million anonymized sessions showing that over 90% of Cowork usage is for non-software-development tasks, with business process operations (33.4%) and content creation (16.4%) being the largest categories. The company extended doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5 to encourage experimentation.
