The India — National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted nationwide searches at 20 locations across nine states and India — Delhi in a case related to an online terror radicalisation conspiracy aimed at establishing an Islamic state in India through violent jihad by promoting the ideology of ISIS and AQIS. The searches led to the seizure of digital devices for forensic examination. Eleven accused and one juvenile have been arrested so far. The case was originally registered by India — Vijayawada police in March after a search at the residence of key accused Mohammad Ahsan Ullah Sharifi recovered incriminating material linked to ISIS and AQIS. The NIA took over the case in May and has found that the accused were indoctrinating vulnerable youth through violent jihadi content and were in online contact with foreign handlers.
