Oryzon gets US patent for vafidemstat in BPD

Oryzon Genomics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, announced that the United States — United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted U.S. Patent No. 12,673,044 covering methods of treating non-aggressive symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD) using LSD1 inhibitors, including vafidemstat. The patent expires in March 2043, including 1,095 days of Patent Term Adjustment. Additionally, a corresponding Canadian patent application received a notice of allowance, and patents have been granted or allowed in Australia, Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Singapore, and South Africa. Oryzon also holds a separate patent family for aggression and social withdrawal, with a recent European patent grant. These developments strengthen Oryzon's intellectual property position for vafidemstat, which is in advanced clinical development for BPD and other psychiatric disorders.
