Quantum computing secures a major contract with the LUMI AI Factory, validating its technology and strengthening its position in the European quantum ecosystem. The deal is expected to boost IQM's revenue and market credibility, positively impacting its stock price.
The LUMI AI Factory, led by CSC - IT Center for Science, has selected Quantum computing to deliver the IQM Halocene H4, an advanced on-premises superconducting quantum computer named LUMI-IQ. The system will be delivered in 2027 and integrated into the LUMI AI Factory at CSC in Finland. It combines quantum error correction with NISQ qubits and will be upgraded over time to increase logical qubit count. The system aims to accelerate hybrid high-performance computing, AI, and quantum computing capabilities for European researchers and industry. The contract value is approximately equal to IQM's total revenue for FY2025. Funding comes from the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, Finland, Czechia, Norway, and Poland. This follows IQM's dual listing on Nasdaq and the Nasdaq Helsinki.
