Delhi EV charging expansion plan

The India — Government of Delhi, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has announced a plan to expand the city's electric vehicle (EV) charging network from approximately 9,000 stations to around 32,000 over the next four years. The initiative is part of the new EV Policy and aims to create a modern, fast, and widely accessible charging infrastructure. Key elements include prioritizing fast-charging technology, converting existing slow chargers to fast chargers, ensuring uninterrupted power supply, and promoting solar-powered charging stations. The government will coordinate with the Singapore — Infocomm Media Development Authority (DDA), India — Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to identify suitable locations such as metro parking areas, municipal parking sites, DDA markets, malls, railway stations, and government premises. Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh attended the high-level meeting where these plans were discussed.
