NIS job scam arrests

Four suspects were arrested in Nairobi by the Kenya — Directorate of Criminal Investigations for operating a fake recruitment syndicate that defrauded a victim of Ksh600,000 by promising a job at the Kenya — National Intelligence Service. The suspects issued a fake NIS calling letter. Documents were recovered and are under forensic examination. The DCI warned the public that government recruitment does not require payment. This follows a separate case where another suspect defrauded victims of Ksh8.6 million with fake promises of jobs in the Kenya — Kenya Defence Forces, Kenya — National Police Service, and Kenya — Public Service Commission (Kenya).
