This CSR achievement enhances Allianz's corporate reputation and demonstrates its commitment to environmental sustainability, potentially improving brand perception among environmentally conscious consumers and investors. However, the direct financial impact on Allianz is negligible given the relatively small investment.

Allianz and Allianz, the Global Capability Centers (GCCs) of Allianz Group in India, announced that their Plastic Waste-Free Rivers Project, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has recovered over 1,000 tons of plastic waste from India — Thiruvananthapuram's rivers and waterways over four years, preventing it from reaching the Arabian Sea. The milestone was celebrated at an event attended by India — Kerala ministers P.K. Kunhalikutty, Joseph Mons, K.M. Shaji, and other dignitaries. The project, launched in 2022, has been funded entirely by Allianz and Allianz with an investment of over INR 5 crores (EUR 500,000) from CSR funds. It uses low-cost floating barriers called TrashBooms deployed by Plastic Fischer, Germany, across 15 sites. The project is run in association with NGO partners Thanal and Rabo Foundation, and non-recyclable plastic is co-processed at Dalmia Bharat plants. The initiative has earned endorsement from the UN Ocean Decade and is being replicated in other Indian cities.
