The AI Commerce Rankings provide a new benchmark for retailers to assess their readiness for AI-driven shopping, potentially influencing investment in catalog optimization. This could shift competitive dynamics in e-commerce, favoring retailers with strong product data accessibility over those with merely high sales volumes.
On July 9, 2026, ReFiBuy and Digital Commerce 360 announced the co-development of the AI Commerce Rankings, a quarterly benchmark measuring how prepared the Top 1000 retailers are for agentic commerce. The rankings add an agentic readiness layer to Digital Commerce 360's 2026 Top 1000 report, combining four signals: bot friendliness, AI source traffic, diversity of AI sources, and 90-day momentum. Early leaders include Online Labels, Nixon, Fashionphile, Everlane, and Brooklinen, showing that scale alone does not determine agentic readiness. Adobe Analytics reported that traffic to U.S. retail sites from generative AI tools increased 693% year over year during the 2025 holiday season and remained elevated into 2026.
