The integration expands PYUSD's utility in enterprise payments, potentially increasing demand for the stablecoin and benefiting PayPal's payment ecosystem. Polygon's network gains a regulated stablecoin, enhancing its appeal for institutional use.
PayPal's stablecoin PYUSD, issued by Paxos (company) under OCC supervision, became natively available on the Polygon blockchain on July 9, 2026. The integration allows businesses using Polygon's Open Money Stack to access PYUSD for payments, cross-border settlements, and fiat conversions through a single API, eliminating the need for multiple providers. Polygon has processed over $2.6 trillion in stablecoin transactions and is used by companies like Revolut and Stripe. This expansion follows PYUSD's rollout to 70 markets earlier in 2026 and Mastercard's addition of PYUSD to its settlement network in June. The move strengthens PYUSD's multi-chain presence and positions it for enterprise payment use cases.
