The migration strengthens Mantle's security posture, potentially increasing trust and adoption of MNT. Chainlink benefits from increased usage of its CCIP protocol, reinforcing its position in the cross-chain infrastructure market.
On July 9, 2026, Mantle announced the migration of its Mantle Super Portal, co-developed with Bybit, from LayerZero to Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). This upgrade brings institutional-grade security to cross-chain transfers of MNT, the token underpinning Mantle's $2.5B+ ecosystem. The Super Portal will be temporarily suspended from July 9 to 15, 2026, during the migration. MNT has deprecated LayerZero OFT and adopted the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, with all transfers now secured by Chainlink CCIP. The migration aims to enhance security and align with industry standards for institutional adoption.
