The visit reinforces India's diplomatic engagement in the Gulf, potentially stabilizing energy and trade ties. No immediate market-moving impact is expected, but strengthened strategic partnerships may support long-term investment flows.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar of India conducted an official visit to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman from July 5-10, 2026, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and discussing regional developments, particularly the Gulf conflict. In Kuwait, he met with the Foreign Minister, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Defence Minister, reviewing cooperation in energy, trade, investments, defence, technology, food security, and health. He also interacted with the Indian community. The visit concluded in Oman, where he was received by Sheikh Ahmed Al Maskari. Jaishankar is scheduled to later travel to New York for India's UN Security Council campaign launch and to Brussels for the India-EU Trade and Technology Council meeting.
