The order signals strong demand for Liquefied natural gas shipping and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company L&S' confidence in the market, potentially boosting its revenue visibility through long-term charters. It also strengthens ties with Chinese shipbuilders and supports Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's broader Liquefied natural gas export ambitions.
Ventura Logistics Services (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company L&S) placed a $900 million order for four next-generation Liquefied natural gas carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, China, with delivery scheduled for 2029. This brings Abu Dhabi National Oil Company L&S' total Liquefied natural gas newbuild program to 18 vessels. The company also took delivery of the first of four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) from Jiangnan Shipyard. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company L&S has committed over $5 billion to fleet expansion since 2022, including orders through its joint venture Oman Shipping Company. The new vessels will support Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's Liquefied natural gas growth strategy targeting 47 million tonnes per annum by 2035.
