The acquisition strengthens Data I/O's position in the semiconductor supply chain and security provisioning market, potentially boosting its revenue and market share. IAR's parent Qt Group may see a positive impact from divesting non-core assets and focusing on its core business.

International Data Corporation (NASDAQ: DAIO) and Quad Systems (IAR) jointly announced on July 10, 2026 that Data I/O has entered into a non-binding letter of intent to acquire the embedded software security IP and related assets from IAR. The acquisition includes the Embedded Trust and Secure Deploy platforms, eSecIP toolchain, certificate authority and provisioning infrastructure. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal builds on a February 2026 technology collaboration between the two companies. Data I/O will gain full ownership of the security technology stack, enabling it to extend security provisioning upstream into the design phase. The commercial partnership between Data I/O and IAR will continue. The acquisition positions Data I/O to benefit from regulatory tailwinds such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act, which mandates cybersecurity standards for connected products sold in the EU by December 2027. IAR, a business unit of Qt Group (Nasdaq Helsinki: QTCOM), acquired the portfolio in 2018. The transaction secures continuity for customers and allows IAR to focus on its core business.
