This announcement is a minor positive for PMGC Holdings as it shows progress in the development of EL-22. However, the impact is limited as the study is still planned and not yet initiated.
PMGC Holdings — NorthStrive Biosciences, a subsidiary of PMGC Holdings, announced plans to initiate an independent flow cytometry (FACS) analysis program to characterize its EL-22 therapeutic candidate. EL-22 is an engineered Lactobacillus casei-based probiotic designed to express a latent myostatin antigen to help preserve muscle during weight loss treatments, including GLP-1 receptor agonists. The study aims to quantify target antigen expression on NorthStrive-manufactured cells and establish comparability against material previously manufactured by MOA Life Plus Co. Ltd. The work is intended to strengthen product identity and manufacturing consistency, supporting future IND-enabling development.
