Ineos and Norwegian recycling company Recuro have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop an advanced recycling facility at Ineos' Bamble polymer site in Norway. The 'Full Circle' project will process up to 33,000 metric tonnes of end-of-life plastic waste annually, using advanced pyrolysis technology powered by renewable Norwegian energy. The recycled output will be used as feedstock to produce recycled ethylene at Ineos' Rafnes cracker, enabling the Bamble plant to manufacture virgin-quality recycled polyethylene for food and medical packaging, helping meet EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requirements. The project leverages existing industrial infrastructure to reduce costs and environmental footprint. Recuro's CEO Arve Jakobsen highlighted the holistic approach, while Ineos CEO Liz Rittweger emphasized the importance of regulatory support for advanced recycling. The project received support from Norway — Innovation Norway and technology partner Vixla.
