The SUPA programme is expected to improve the quality of Nigeria's skilled workforce, potentially boosting productivity in construction and manufacturing sectors. It may reduce unemployment and underemployment, positively impacting the economy in the long term.

The Nigeria — Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has commenced nationwide screening of 225,000 practising artisans under the Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) programme, a Federal Government initiative to enhance skills, certification, and employment opportunities. The screening is conducted simultaneously across all 36 states and the FCT. Participants will undergo free 3.5-month training, receive transportation stipends, and earn internationally recognized certifications. The programme offers three exit pathways: business incubation, domestic job placement, and overseas employment. The 2025 pilot phase was successful, with certification exams supervised by Alberk QA Technic of Turkiye. The ITF is expanding partnerships with international certification bodies. The programme aims to implement President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and reduce reliance on foreign labour.
