The IIT Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) held its 28th convocation ceremony on July 12, 2026, awarding 2,265 degrees to students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The institute published 2,478 research papers in the past year, is handling 290 research projects worth Rs 300 crore, and launched an M.Tech. program in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. It expanded collaborations with institutions in Japan and the United Kingdom and partnered with Skyroot Aerospace for space innovation. Chief Guest Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO of India — Anusandhan National Research Foundation, encouraged graduates to build capabilities for the nation.
