The India — Supreme Court of India is set to hear on July 20 a batch of pleas seeking a fair and time-bound probe into alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, managed by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra. The court had earlier directed the India — Uttar Pradesh government's Special Investigation Team (SIT) to submit a status report and issued notice to the Trust. Petitioners, including Narendra Kumar Goswami, Ajay Kumar Rai, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, RJD MP M. C. Sudhakar, and Hindu Dharma Parishad, seek a CBI-led investigation and a CAG audit of the Trust's finances. The controversy has led to the arrest of eight individuals, including Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, and Karunesh Pandey, and the resignation of Trust officials Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. The RSS has expressed confidence in the SIT probe.
