Lhyfe, a European green hydrogen producer, and Messer SE & Co. KGaA, the world's largest privately-owned industrial gases company, signed a major commercial, industrial and financial partnership. Messer SE & Co. KGaA will acquire a 30% stake in four of Lhyfe's renewable hydrogen production sites in France and Germany, and the companies will enter a 10-year renewable hydrogen supply contract. Messer SE & Co. KGaA commits to a minimum purchase volume starting in 2026, expected to reach several hundred tonnes per year, and aims to purchase half of the output from the three French sites. The partnership strengthens Lhyfe's financial profile through recurring cash flows and capital rotation, while Messer SE & Co. KGaA secures long-term access to renewable hydrogen to support its customers' decarbonization goals. Completion is subject to lenders' consent.
