The programme is expected to improve the quality of state-owned company listings, potentially increasing investor confidence and market liquidity. However, its impact is gradual and depends on successful execution of actual IPOs.
Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has launched a national training programme to prepare state-owned companies for public offerings on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX). The programme, delivered by the Financial Services Institute (FSI) and the Institute of Directors (EIoD), targets executives of 20 provisionally listed state-owned companies, with plans to expand to 30 more. It covers capital market regulations, listing procedures, governance, disclosure, and post-listing compliance. The initiative supports Egypt's IPO programme under the IMF reform agenda, aiming to strengthen corporate readiness, attract investment, and deepen the capital market.
