The Nigeria — Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Abeokuta Field Office, sealed two filling stations in Nigeria — Ogun State on Monday for under-dispensing fuel and violating the Petroleum Industry Act 2021. The affected stations are Mangarborn Energy and ExxonMobil — Mobil Oil Corporation Filling Station, located in the Akute/Ajuwon area of Ifo Local Government Area. The enforcement team, led by Aderemi Adebowale, Head of Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure, stated that the action was necessary due to repeated breaches, including under-dispensing, illegal removal of official seals, and unauthorized resumption of operations. The NMDPRA has been monitoring one station since 2025, which had been sealed at least six times previously. The stations will remain shut until conditions are met, and the authority is considering suspending their operating licenses. Further tampering with seals may lead to criminal prosecution.
