The acquisition is a strategic move to expand VisualLogix's European presence and product portfolio, but the private nature of both companies and undisclosed terms limit immediate market impact. The deal signals consolidation in the engineering software space, potentially increasing competition for larger players like Autodesk and Dassault Systemes.
VisualLogix, a New York-based developer of mission-critical engineering and fabrication software, announced the acquisition of refyne Group, a DACH-region software company serving wood, metal, and facade fabricators. The acquisition expands VisualLogix's geographic footprint into Europe and adds a suite of established products including Athena, Apollon, TrunCAD, nCAD, flixo, and Triviso, extending its portfolio into CAD, CAM, thermal analysis, and ERP solutions for the fabrication market. Financial terms were not disclosed. VisualLogix plans to build a common AI foundation to enhance products across the combined portfolio. refyne Group CEO Dr. Stefan Gutberlet and the existing team are expected to remain with the business.
