Darline Graham Nordone Sworn In

Darline Graham, sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, was sworn in as a U.S. Senator from United States — North Carolina on July 14, 2026, three days after her brother's death from an aortic dissection. She was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster and will serve until January 3, 2027. A special primary election is scheduled for August 11 to determine the Republican nominee for the November general election. Nordone, who has no prior elected office, worked in state government and disability services. Her appointment maintains the Republican majority in the Senate.
